Rumors, lovely rumors. On this slow news day, I thought I’d pass along two rumors from the same rumor well that brought you the Halo at E3 rumor that was correct, the Brash “Where the Wild Things Are” rumor that was correct,and many others.
With that said, new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Mass Effect 2 rumors follow after the jump!
Let’s get started with the Mass Effect 2 rumors. First off, although it has been already kind of announced for 2010, my source has Mass Effect 2 pegged for Q1 of 2010, which could mean sometime between October and December of 2009, depending on how they define their fiscal year. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for new info on this juicy gem.
Next up, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. With the popularity of the zombie mode in CoD: WaW, its no wonder that Infinity Ward will also apparently feature a zombie mode within the game. I don’t have anything specific, but it could very well be a part of the single player story. The specific reference that my source told me was that it would be “zombie based. Marines v. Zombies.” That’s the quote.

Whether it will be part of the main storyline, an unlockable level, or possibly a gametype outside of the single player experience, expect to see modern weapons tearing apart zombies in the next installment of the Call of Duty franchise.

Actually Shane, no. I edited the post, but basically, when somebody uses terms like Q1, I take it to mean fiscal year Q1, which would place it between October and December… I previously put in there April and June, which was a total brain cramp on my part. It could very well mean January through March as well… We’ll see.
I can’t wait for both of these games. To be honest though, I don’t want to see zombies. The one thing I don’t want to see for Modern Warfare 2 is a clone of World at War , which was also a clone of COD4 but in WWII. I’d rather they focused on trying to make COD: MW2 stand out from the rest by possibly adding some new gameplay elements – not just more maps and weapons, loads of people say that they want more maps and weapons but they really need to add something new and different otherwise it’ll just get old and just feel exactly the same as before – and trying to perfect the overall experience.
Putting something into a game that was popular in the community before isn’t anything new… “Zombies” was a popular player-made variant in Halo 2 that Bungie turned into an official variant in Halo 3 (though not quite as good as the original, IMO.)
Zombies in games is so 2008
I don’t have any problem with Zombies in my MW:2. I mean, Treyarch allegedly threw the mode in the game towards the end of development, which means it couldn’t have been that hard to program. While it won’t be my focus in the game, I’d still love to see it. And for those of you who think it’s taking away from CoD’s realistic experience, well, if you want a realistic experience go join the army.
Yeah, Treyarch threw it in during the last few weeks of development, which is why the first one is so bad. They did this because of the horde mode on GOW2, they were afraid of it being a better game due to this, although GOW2 has no servers so it constantly lags.
I don’t see a problem with having a zombie mode in the game. It was fun in WaW, so why not put it in MW2?

I would love a zombie mode in MW2. Nazi Zombies is the only reason I play WaW. Infinity Ward can add a mode called, Terrorist Zombies or something.

since the last CoD MW dealt with nuclear weapons, CoD MW dealt with a virus that made the infected zombie like. kinda in the vein of resident evil? perhaps there may be a level where instead of surveying the terrain after a nuclear explosion you have to slog your way through infected civilians

you guys are all retarted who dont want there to be a new zombies mode in MW 2. its the best part of WaW so why not add it again. I do agree that there should be a new angle or effect that gives MW2 an edge to it so its not a clone of the previous titles. But for sure it needs to have Terrorist Zombies, or Al Qaeda Zombies or something. Heck it could even have Socialist Zombies, and you could fight Hillary Clinton, and Nacy Pelosi, and Barack Obama. haha

Obviously BONEZ SPARTA is a fake, and there should be a new zombies thing or some kind of thing like that included into MW2, purely because it was quite successful in WaW.
I think it is VERY annoying how people have to say “NAZI ZOMBIES SUCK!!@” or “DONT ADD IT!” etc, people can have their opinions and saying the above is just stupid and pointless to say.
And IF they do add a Nazi Zombies or something like that they should make it have a storyline, and possibly a campain, but then it would be sort of like its own game.
Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2 is about war, not zombies, and although it was fun in WaW, they shouldn’t go too overboard with it in MW2.

Now, it’s Infinity Ward who says they haven’t revealed everything there is to know about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Furthermore, what they’re keeping under wraps isn’t something small, either; they say it’ll make you “completely forget everything” you already know about the game. According to what IW community manager Robert Bowling told VideoGamer, we’ve actually only heard about “20% of the game” and “there’s a lot of sh** people aren’t seeing.” Yeah, we know what you’re thinking: with all the press this project has received in 2009, and with the sheer number of questions the team has fielded up to this point, it almost seems impossible that anything even remotely significant remains a mystery. I mean, we’ve even got full gameplay videos so what’s the big secret? Well, Bowling says the surprises are definitely a-comin’:
“There are some huge surprises. What’s awesome is, we’ve done all the press we’ve done so far, we’ve shown Cliffhanger, we’ve shown some Favela, we’ve set the tone of what Modern Warfare 2 is, and yet there is something we haven’t talked about that, and the reason we haven’t talked about it is because once you see it you completely forget everything we’ve already talked about. It becomes this whole new game. That’s what I’m excited for.”
We have no idea what they could be hiding, but we’d like to think we know what this game is about. Don’t we? What could Infinity Ward be hiding that changes our entire view? We assume it’s going to be a big deal so perhaps we’ll hear about it at the Tokyo Game Show; they can’t possibly keep it secret until the game launches in November. …can they?
zombies will make the new CODMW2 stupid if you want to play a zombie game go play resident evil 5 or L4D the nazi zombie mode in CODWAW was cool but in the new CODMW2 it will kill it zombies in a up-to-date war game not cool and it will be to easy but thats what i got to say other than that the game is going to be real good
