Pre-order bonuses have been around for a while now. Sometimes they’re pretty cool, and other times you get a pair of boxer shorts. GameCrazy’s pre-order bonus for Resident Evil 5 tops the boxer shorts in terms of weirdness, and I’m not sure if I want one or not.
Hit the jump to see it.

That’s right, it’s a “snow” globe. Well, it’s not even that because there’s no snow, it’s dirt or sand. It still makes little sense as to why this is a pre-order bonus for the game. Capcom is supposedly going to be announcing this tomorrow.
Off the top of my head, I can’t think of what pre-order bonus they should have given out, but had I been contemplating it, a snow globe would have never even shown up on the list I made.
What do you think? I bet this would look cool sitting on your desk, especially if you’re a huge Resident Evil fan, but wouldn’t you rather have something… cooler? For such a big-name game, you would think they’d give you a chainsaw or something.
Right now, it’s only GameCrazy that’s assured to have these. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow if everyone who pre-ordered from Gamestop will get a RE5 dirt globe to call their very own.

It’s better then the post card or it was that gamestop was offering.
Maybe a DVD collection of all the Youtube videos of people debating the racism controversy.
Even a fricken sticker trumps “Dirt Globe”. I am trying for the life of me to figure out what would rhyme with either snow globe or dirt globe that would make an inept intern order these damn things.
Anybody want else an El Gigante action figure?
Perhaps if instead of dirt it was bits and pieces of zombies and blood, it’d be 100% more awesome

Yes, I totally agree with ya’. If they had done that I think more people would be interested in actually owning that thing.
Although I think I’d prefer the chainsaw.
I’m glad that everyone has dissed this sand globe. I own one and it’s now a priceless gaming swag item. I’ll sell it to any of you for 300 dollars american. I got a bid for 250 dollars but that seems a little low ball. lol thank you, all of you.
