[Updated] Survival Pack Price Point Doesn’t Disappoint

Hot off of the heels of the interesting news from Valve that uber hit Left 4 Dead would be getting a “Survival” Pack offering versus modes for the remaining two campaign maps, along with a new online multiplayer game mode called, what else, Survival, we have word on the pricing.

We had previously speculated on the Sarcastic Gamer Show last week that the DLC could be as much as $10.  Needless to say, I was not happy with that prospect.

Find out more, after the jump.

According to Kotaku, the pricing for the Spring DLC is, wait for it…

FREE.

Grumbling averted.  Thanks Valve for finishing up Left 4 Dead and not making us pay for it.

Valve confirmed the pricing via their twitter account.

As much as I love free, the first time I saw it, I read NEW campaigns as NEW campaigns.

Without any new maps of course it was gonna be free.

Doesn’t surprise me in terms of the PC platform but does this really go for 360 as well?

Okay ignore my above comment. Probably should’ve read from the source BEFORE jumping the ol’ comment gun!

    Great news all round!

Valve really is awesome. Sure it’s something that really should be free, but most developers would have charged for it anyway. Not Valve though. :D

Awesome, this is why I love valve.

Of course, I have the superior PC version, so it was going to be free anyway.

Who even complains about having to pay for DLC is a retard. I’ll gladly spend$10 on a DLC pack for L4d regardless of it’s contents because it is one my favorite games and Valve is going to be putting out packs every few months. But I must say paying an extra 5 dollars for a multiplayer mode which isn’t really that fun for RE5 is ridiculous
