Guitar Hero coming to the Android G1

g1gh

If I drew a Venn diagram of two pertinent groups, hardcore face melting rock gods and suave corporate T-Mobile G1 carriers, you would not foresee a large intersection. In fact, bar a few exceptions, I would go as far to say that no amplified axe slammers own the ‘phone with a chin’. Activision obviously think differently though with the announcement that Guitar Hero is coming to the popular smart phone.

This new iteration of the franchise we never get bored of, will contain jaunty jingles from the likes of Deep Purple and Guns n Roses where timeless classics such as Smoke on the Water and Welcome to the Jungle can be played and sung along to on a cramped bus. Unlike most of the Android apps, Guitar Hero will not be free, though no price has been announced.

Guitar Hero joins EA’s rather sparse collection of Android games, but at least there’s Tetris. Tetris is still fun, right?

It’s early days for Android (still better than an iPhone, Eoco…) but it’s good to see the beginnings of ‘proper’ gaming on the OS. Will be reviewing GH when it hits the Market :)
