I usually try to maintain some minimum level of maturity but sometimes these things just write themselves….  I say “try” because sometimes I lapse…  sometimes I’ll stay up way too late to watch The Naked Gun or Airplane on a work night just to laugh my ass off.  Sometimes the humor just drills down to my core potty-humor nerve and says “Hello!!!  That’s FREAKIN’ HILARIOUS!!!” and I’m obliged to laugh hysterically.  I just had one of those moments when reading Kotaku’s coverage of the latest Ubisoft acquisition… the following content is 100% true and factual, but I dare you to read it without snickering (or at least groaning a couple times…)

Ubisoft has had its share of hard times just like the rest of the gaming industry, but unlike other publishers that just seem to roll over and take it; accepting their lowering self-image, Ubisoft seems to have a plan for getting theirs up.  What do you do if your company is named Ubisoft in hard times?  You buy Action Pants of course!  Action Pants will help you firm up your future, letting you get a handle on things through the security of knowing your Wii efforts will stand tall with little worry of things going limp anytime soon.

Ubisoft is quoted as saying they are “very excited” about seeing what they can get out of the Wii with the aid of their newly acquired Action Pants, further saying that Action Pants “will provide our staff with new and exciting opportunities.”  Clearly, with a name like Action Pants it takes some balls to dedicate yourself solely to maximizing your Wii potential and showing the world what you can whip up… or out.  I hope the gaming press doesn’t go to hard on them as they’re just trying to get by.  If things don’t work out and money becomes a problem, they always have the option of shedding their pants to try to make their bottom line look more attractive and ward off any hostile takeovers of their ass… ets.
