Fox News… Geez, where do I begin. Well, waaay back in January of 2008, Mass Effect was getting raked over the coals by Fox News for promoting lesbian sex and full frontal nudity.
My only question is, where do I get my hands on the game that Fox news played? Oh… Wait… They totally made it all up? Damn you Fox News… Damn you.

I wrote up a post on the fiasco, that detailed Geoff Keighley showing up on Fox News to set the record straight and this was what I wrote, for the most part, back in January:
Let me set the stage, with my completely biased gamer’s point of view.
Well, lets see, you have, what could possibly be the dumbest Fox News Anchor to ever tape a segment on cable, (and that’s saying something for Fox News) a shrieking psuedo-psychologist/radio host Cooper Lawrence, and the face of truth, Geoff Keighley.
Here’s the clip. Be sure to watch the segment after the Keighley debate, as Fox sinks to a new low in genuine stupidity as one man discloses to the world, what a complete and total douche bag, with his Debbie Does Dallas reference.

Ok, why do we have people that have never played the game, talking about it? That’s like having Dennis Miller dissect football games, it doesn’t fraking work. Oh and how about the half-a-tard that calls Mass Effect “Luke Skywalker meets Debbie Does Dallas.” I bet that guy wouldn’t know who Luke Skywalker was if Mark Hamill himself walked up and donkey punched him. Gawd, I would pay good money to see that.

I had forgotten about this little piece of ultimate ignorance. It may be Fox but I expected better, even from them, lol. We should send them to Japan, where there ARE sex-videogames like that being released!
Did anybody else see the ‘Playstation PORNable’ thing that Fox News did? Basically, (according to Fox News) the PSP is inappropriate for children because it has a web browser, which automatically leads to kids looking at porn and interacting with pedophiles.

Wow….i had never actually seen this clip before, just heard of it. The ignorance of some people is amazing. That they can go on national television to talk about a game and then say “Well i’ve never played it, but i’ve heard about it”….Well gee, nice job. Maybe you should try learning at least a little bit about what you’re reporting on before you report on it.
The Mass Effect Fox News fiasco was… god, I can’t even think about it without getting agitated. I’m allergic to stupidity, for some reason…
My only solace is that one day, video games will emerge triumphantly from the back end of this media gauntlet, like rock & roll and comic books before it.
i love it how they go to the psychologist lady first who is incredibly ignorant and arrogant and has no idea what she’s talking about, and then they go to the expert on the game and he just says “uh-huh yeah that’s completely incorrect, Have you ever played the game?”
Oh wow, i love how they cut off/interrupt Geoff Keighley as he tries to defend the game…
Actually, the video gamers then bombarded Cooper’s books with terrible reviews on amazon.com stating that they “knew her book was trash even though they never read it.”
Amazon closed the review section for her books and Cooper later on publicly admitted that she was wrong about Mass Effect.
Surprisingly Mass Effect is only a 12 in the UK as compared to a mature in America
