The Fable II Knothole Island download, supplements the whimsical world of Albion with a wintry wonderland for heroes of all shapes and sizes to traverse. As you gaze across the glaciated landscape, you notice a number of shops plonked carelessly in the snow. At first glance they may appear intrusive, but as you stroll briskly into their toasty interiors, you spot an exquisite blue potion encapsulated in a glistening phial, a tarnished augment emitting a soft brown light and a battle-ready war hammer that you wish to call your own.
Welcome to Knothole Island.
There are really three things you get with the Knothole Island download: the ‘main’ adventure, comprising of a three nondescript quests, two longer lasting ‘collect’ quests and a healthy variety of new shops to explore. Unfortunately the main adventure is a touch dissapointing. The new quests have you battling your way through three dungeons with the aim of returning Knothole Island to it’s previous meteorological glory, for, you see, Knothole Island is not always as arctic as you might think. At the climax of each of these dungeons, you reach a totem that will adjust Knothole Island’s weather for better or for worse, yet, the problem lies not with the end of the dungeons, but in how you reach them. Said dungeons comprise of a number of very basic puzzles involving flit switches and levers, interspersed with an assortment of incongruous foes. The puzzles are neither fun, nor challenging and often feel a bit cheap. On one occasion, an unruly ice chunk was blocking my way. ‘Melt it with a fire spell‘ was my first thought. Alas, fire does not appear to melt this magical ice. ‘Oh well, this puzzle must be unsolvable‘ I concluded, ‘I guess all I can do is pull on this conveniently placed lever‘. As the lever creaked down to its ‘on’ position, a burst of flame shot out of the wall and melted the ice. Replace ‘ice’ with ‘electricity’ and you’ve got the blueprint for the next dungeon.

Sounds cool, shame my Damn Fable 2 is broke. :[
“This snowy sanctuary also boasts a flurry of new shops”
I see what you did there!
Good enough article, makes me want to playswitch it back.
One of those “simplistic” puzzles threw me for a loop. I definitely think it’s worth the money.
I enjoyed the DLC, the items from the box of secrets were pretty cool
While I think the actual quest was a bit short, I think the entire package was well worth the 800 points. Hell, I’d have been tempted to spend 800 points on the Axe of Disharmony alone.
I was so freaking happy I got my dog back!! That alone was worth it. Theres a tomb, you just had make a human sacrifice.
