Jack Thompson just won’t go away. Jack, like a lingering fecal nugget, refuses to be flushed. I would blame game bloggers, who constantly write about his outlandish shenanigans, but I refuse to point the finger at myself or my associates. Therefore, I will continue to deflect blame as I post yet another article about the embattled figure and his latest stab at preserving his legal license.
The clown without makeup was disbarred by the Florida Supreme Court last year, but is attempting to get the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn that ruling. I only hope, when the Court does review his case, that Thompson unleashes one of his classic tirades. I would love to hear Jack question Chief Justice Roberts’ authority.
According to a report from GamePolitics, the Supreme Court has extended Thompson’s deadline to file for an appeal. The initial deadline expired on Christmas Eve, but the controversial activist now has until sometime in February to file the necessary paperwork. GamePolitics reported a date of Feb. 18, which conflicted with the date (Feb. 22) provided in the Supreme Court document it cited. Though, it is possible that I simply misinterpreted the aforementioned source.
Essentially, Thompson still has a chance to salvage his career. Luckily, for fans of violent games, the Court only hears a small percentage of the cases that appear on its docket. Though, the Court must think that Thompson has a case, since it OK’d his extension request.
I rarely find joy in another person’s misfortune, but Jack Thompson deserves to lose his license to practice law. He continually spit in the face of ethical behavior with his childish antics; last year, it finally caught up with him. I have always understood Thompson’s desire to protect children from inappropriate software, but his methods have been laughably unprofessional. Besides, I firmly believe that parents, not some loud-mouthed advocate, should be in charge of their offspring’s gaming habits.
Unfortunately, despite his current respite from the legal realm, Thompson has been able to keep himself in the news. He recently shared his thoughts on Strauss Zelnick’s professional performance and his opinion on Take-Two’s “stock slide.”
Hopefully, the next time I see a Thompson-centric blog post, I want the headline to read: “Former Florida attorney dons red wig.”

Oh no… I hope to God that he remains disbarred. If the Supreme Court overturns the ruling, I will personally hunt Jack Thompson down and murder him.
He’ll probably blame GTA.
cmon,
he’s like the guy everyone loves to hate,
there seriously cannot be any better publicity than having Jack Thompson try to ban your game
I would not be suprised if Rockstar where paying his wages these days
Keep him in the gutter. He’s made hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars as a “school shooting expert”, and all he does is bash Halo, GTA and Counter Strike.
If anyone has profited from the deaths of those involved in school shootings, it’s Jack Thomspon.
I know it’s harsh to say that, but it’s true. CNN pays quite a bit for their “Experts”.
Anyone else think he looks like an elderly John Stewart in that pic?
