Church’s Chicken has joined forces with SURGE, a studio and publishing label created by NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. Their mission: To prove once and for all that all gamers love chicken! Or, it might just be to promote a new video game called AFRO SAMURAI, I’m not sure. The game released today all over North America for Xbox 360 and PS3. I still don’t get the whole greasy fingers and controller thing but what do I know? Just wipe your fingers before you click on the link to find out more, ok?
You’re probably asking yourself the same question I did when I heard about this. ”What the heck is an Afro Samurai?” Afro Samurai is a very popular animated series that I have never had the pleasure of watching.
I’m one of few to have missed it, but you can watch the Season 2 premiere this Sunday night on Spike TV. It must be good because Samuel L. Jackson himself was quoted saying “It’s sexy, violent and extremely cool.” Then again he is also the executive producer of the film: “Afro Samurai: Resurrection”, and may be a little biased.
Of course, just like every other movie and animated series there comes a video game along with it. This game looks amazing though. The combination of hip-hop music, samurai action, and Samuel L. Jackson’s voice just works somehow and the graphics don’t look half bad either. You have to love Afro Samurai’s look. He’s got a sweet afro and runs around with a huge samurai sword and something that resembles a rolled cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
Yeah, he’s one bad mutha… shut your mouth…
What does all of this have to do with Chicken though? Church’s Chicken has an Enter-To-Win Sweepstakes that started on January 26th. With a chance to win the Grand prize of $7,500, a customized Afro Samurai iPod player, a copy of the game and more. I may just have to take a break from the SGPink Biggest Loser competition and go get me some chicken!

Being a fan of the show I cant wait to try out the game. But that kinda ticks me off that where I live there is no Church’s Chicken… I would love that iPod…

As for my thoughts? I have HAD it with these motherf–king ads in these motherf–king games. Okay, not really, but the Snakes on a Plane reference was begging to be made.
