WaW Day One Advantage + 24

We all know how spending a little extra netted you the “day one advantage” in CoD: WaW. Spending extra on that kind of stuff in games never made much sense to me, since part of the fun of in games like CoD 4 was working toward unlocking new weapons in multiplayer. Besides the guns and that special feeling people got when they paid the extra $10, Activision has decided to up the ante and it’s not good.

Check it out, after the jump.

Lovers of CoD 4 were always fans of the double XP weekends. A time to level up quickly and have a great excuse not to play private matches. There’s one coming up this weekend, but it’s not for everyone. Only the chosen that chose to spend that little extra.

I understand that Activision wants to show some love to the fools… cough… I mean gamers that paid for the day one advantage. This is however day 20, and when double XP weekend begins it will be day 25. Shouldn’t that advantage have ended by now?

Why Activision why? Where’s the love those of us that were too poor, or too cheap to play extra? We still bought the damn game. Am I looking at this the wrong way? Should special editions still be special a month later?

I am a big fan of the CoD series, but this is bulls***!

In England Dave, with the Collector’s Edition, if you pay the extra 10 pounds, you get a whole week of Double XP, and you get a really high-powered weapon.

A bit of an unfair advantage perhaps? It’s a f*ckin joke, but I’m going to be buying a copy of the Collector’s Edition when I have money to put aside, because you get a deceptively large flask with the edition, a nice tin to put the game in, and some nice extras…

      I’m not a cheat! :o

Apparently there have been problems with the Double XP thing though, as Activision haven’t got it working for every Collector’s Edition owner yet… :/

    • If you have a friend with the collector’s edition (which I plan on getting) they can invite you into the double xp playlist.

If part of the fun is torward to unlocking stuff why did you buy the BF:BC limited edition hmmmmm…;)
I think if you paid the ten extra then i don’t think theres anything bad with getting something extra even if it’s a little while after.
I feel sorry for the company that had to choose between the groups.

    • no problem with it at all =)

and yes I got the collectors edition. I didn’t really care for this weekend thing when I got it but what I am ticked about is that you get the FG-42 with the collectors edition but it’s doesn’t unlock the challenges!!!!!!!

thats bull. I hope this bites them in the ass somehow.

The extra weapons aren’t really a big deal. Yeah they are both quite powerful but they can only be used on the default classes and not custom, until they are unlocked from leveling.

Well thats how it is on PC.

Even the Canteen you get with the limited edition doesn’t open.

Just look at the double XP week as a way for the suckers that paid extra to actaully get something useful out of it.

People who pay more get more advantages. I think it’s fair. Few people are actually complaining to Microsoft that to play online, you have to pay for a gold account, while it’s free on the PSN. In this instance, you’re not losing anything, just delaying it. I think it’s fair that premium users receive premium content.

Its only unfair people are getting the double xp in a way that was not possible for you to acquire. The double xp week was advertised as part of the collectors edition package before the game came out. Some people bought it, some did not. But those that did had the option to buy it if they wanted it. Don’t be mad if other people are getting something they paid for and you are not especially when you had the option to and turned it down. If it wasn’t worthy of your purchase, is it worthy of your complaints?
