Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was a gem of a game. It was a little bit of Tomb Raider, with some Indiana Jones mixed in for good measure. Regardless, it felt like a completely fresh sort of game with a Gears-inspired cover system, a likeable main character and just-as-likeable sidekick, and some utterly gorgeous looks (considering the PS3’s youth). Based on the commercial and critical success of Drake’s Fortune, it seemed inevitable that Naughty Dog would pump out a sequel.
Fresh from GameTrailers comes a 30-second teaser trailer for Uncharted 2, showing Nathan Drake struggling to make his way through – I’m guessing – Arctic tundra. Frostbitten and enamored with unshaven stubble, he’s up to his old treasure-hunting tricks again. Although, given the setting, he’s obviously having a much harder time doing it. Then again, the Pacific only has so many treasures.
What’s more, the next issue of Game Informer will carry a 10-page special on Among Thieves, with world-exclusive info and screenshots. The question is, what lies behind the subtitle? Has Drake descended into pure thievery rather than simply following the trail of Sir Francis? Given the gold-plated ending of the first game, this wouldn’t make sense…unless Sully swiped it all and did a runner. No good two-bit son of a gun that he is.
Anyway, I having been eagerly awaiting news on a sequel ever since I stopped collecting the Uncharted Trophies earlier this year. Though I won’t be able to pick up a copy of Game Informer, I anticipate that the next issue of OPM UK will carry the same information. There’s also a proper unveiling at the 2008 Spike Video Game Awards on the 14th.
What about you though? Are you hyped for Uncharted 2, or is it simply not for you?

I never played the first one but the sequel looks pretty good so i might pick it up
The first game was pretty bomb. I’m looking forward to this one quite a bit, and from the looks of it, Naughty Dog is throwing a little bit of Lost Planet into it too. Nothing wrong with that.
Fun first game, one of the better games of the PS3’s lineup. Stoked to play the sequel.

Did somebody say, 100% trophies?
