David Jaffe has a reputation for saying exactly what’s on his mind, no matter how bizarre, how profane, or how mundane.  2008 saw the return of  David Jaffe from his self-imposed hiatus from blogging.

Keep reading to find out what we were missing while he was quiet…Jaffe returned very late in 2007 to promote his (then) upcoming Twisted Metal Head-On Extra Twisted Edition, but later started posting to his blog regularly, without much development talk about his own projects.  In fact, the very same things we’ve said in the past about Cliffy B could be said about David Jaffe in terms of “Why do we care what he thinks?!?!” except Jaffe’s penchant for profanity, complete lack of self-perceived super-stardom, and, well… normal looking teeth very readily separate the two.

I can honestly say the first mention of VP candidate Sarah Palin as a MILF was from David Jaffe’s blog. Also, who could forget one of his greatest hits… the blog entry with “HOLY HOLY HOLY F***ING HELL!” in it?  I mean anyone could say “HOLY F***ING HELL!” but Jaffe adds the crucial “HOLY HOLY” on the front for dramatic effect.

One thing I really do have to give Jaffe credit for though is his willingness to step up and take individual fans and haters to task when he deems it necessary.  Most folks would probably ignore it if a random internet douchebag said something stupid on the internet, but not Jaffe.  You’re likely to get an update to his blog post addressing your own personal flavor of stupidity for the world to see (and laugh at.)

While he definitely makes the usual rounds when he’s got a game to hype  (who can blame him?) it’s refreshingly nice to see someone that’s not afraid to say exactly what they’re thinking exactly how they’re thinking it and for him not to be an arrogant prick about it and ignoring anyone that begs to differ.  That’s why David Jaffe returning to blogging is one of our Top Gaming Moments of 2008.
