The Wii… Ah yes the little white box that can’t.  How you piss me off, but make toddlers smile.  Not a whole heck of a lot debuted this year on the Wii.  Sure, you’ve got your SSBB and your Mario Kart, but I’m not 9 years old.

How bout stacking blocks and knocking them down again?  Yeah, count me in!

Boom Blox, arguably the best game on the system has Steven Spielberg’s name on the top of the box.  Allegedly it was born from the mind of the “Spiel” and woven into the game that made me love the Wii. I believe that this may be the first successful Hollywood director game ever made.  It also might possibly be the ONLY Hollywood Director game ever made…

Breaking stuff is fun, which is why Spielberg bringing Boom Blox to the Wii is number 79 on Sarcastic Gamer’s Top 100 Gaming Moments of 2008!

This is the only game that gets me to ever turn on my Wii. Glad to see there’s rumors of them creating a 2nd one. Hopefully it will use the Motion Plus adapter so that you can actually pull blocks straight out (toward or away from the screen).

You cant? Seriously? I know the controller can see that (Metroid Prime 3 used it for door locks, and you can use such motion to change the thickness of lines you draw over pictures), so why wouldnt that be in this game?

The toward and away from the screen motion has never really worked for me on any Wii game. Yes the Wii will detect it, but only if it’s a sudden movement, and in a game like Boom Blox sudden movements are the exact opposite of what you want.
