Diablo 3… I don’t get it.  Fanboys who complain about coloring and lighting in games… I don’t get that either.  Put the two in a blender and watch the train wreck.

The best part?  Lead Designer for Diablo 3 fired back to shut the fanboys the hell up.  Check it out, after the jump.

When Diablo 3 was first shown, most thought it was sweet, while the crazies complained that the game’s color palette was “too bright.” Specific complaints were leveled at the lighting in the game and venom was specifically directed at the choice of colors in things like grass… Yes grass.  So, some morons went ahead and thought they would “show Blizzard” by photoshopping some of the screen caps of the game.

In an interview with MTV’s Multiplayer Blog, Jay Wilson, Lead Designer for Diablo 3 took a hard look at the fan “revisions” that were done to screen caps of the Diablo 3. For the most part, Wilson dismissed the changes as completely unworkable in a video game for a number of reasons, not the least bit being that the authors were a bunch of wankers.

Specifically, the darker lighting used in the “revisions” would make it impossible to tell other characters apart when playing multiplayer, amongst other issues.

I’m just glad somebody stepped up to quell this nonsense.  Good grief fanboys, you haven’t even touched the game, played the game or even seen all the areas in the game yet.

For the Diablo 3 crazies and the Lead Designer that picked them apart, this nonsense comes in at #47 on our Top 100 Gaming Moments of 2008.
