When developer Ready at Dawn announced they were going to bring God of War to the PSP, people became hyped and worried in equal amounts. Hyped because the first two were insanely great games that arguably defined what the PS2 was capable of. People hoped the same would be said about the PSP installment.

However, people were also worried that God of War would suffer from the same illness that plagues so many PSP titles, lame-port-over-ites.

Of course, we now know better. Find out why God of War: Chains of Olympus became the flagship title for the PSP and how it made it on the list, after the jump!

Far from a lame-port-over, or slapped together token title, God of War: Chains of Olympus is arguably the best game available for the PSP. Its graphics alone must be considered by even the most critical of gamers to be the best on Sony’s handheld. It currently sits above all other PSP titles on Metacritic with a solid score of 91. Sony’s red PSP 2000 bundle with the Kratos silk-screen, God of War: Chains of Olympus game and the SuperBad UMD remains the best bundle ever IMHO.

Quite frankly, if you own a PSP and you have NOT played Chains of Olympus, you need to hand in your mobile gaming badge. What can you really say that is bad about it? It IS too short. That’s it! Yeah people say more puzzles, more bosses etc would have made the game better, but all that is sorta implied with the whole “it is too short” bit. If the game had been longer if would have scored high 90’s for sure.

Still, Chains of Olympus is an obvious feat of brilliance in and of itself. Controls? Responsive. Graphics? Wicked. Music? Just right. Story? Entertaining. Violence? Over the top just the way I like it! Nudity? How can I say no?

No game has pushed what the PSP can do more than God of War: Chains of Olympus. It set the standard for what a true AAA title on the PSP really is. Most importantly though you get to run around as an insanely kick ass looking, sword wielding, head decapitating, unstoppable killing machine…and there’s boobies.

That’s why God of War: Chains of Olympus reigning supreme on the PSP comes in at number 38 in Sarcastic Gamers Top 100 Moments of 2008!

There are a bunch of typos in this article. How can you misspell “Patapon” as “God of War: Chains of Olympus”?

      (they’re both good games though)
