Oh Wii Music, I remember your discordant wailing, cacophonous screeching, strident grating, awkward waggling and inharmonious jangling, but, unfortunately, I remember it for those very reasons: it didn’t sound that great.

Keen to top up their already protuberant money warehouse with yet more funds, Nintendo decided to release another game in their Wii [Enter Word Here] franchise. Afterall, Wii Play, Wii Sport and Wii Fit had proven storming successes, so what was there to lose?

Unfortunately, quite a lot. The game received average reviews, netting it a Metacritic score of 63 and generally low sales. In fact, some folks found Wii Music to be so bad, that they made a parody video of it! Gah, can you believe it?

Me though? I find Wii Fit to be patronizing. Nintendo may have been targeting the casual gamer, but have they forgotten that casual gamers have been playing the likes of Guitar Hero and Rock Band for years now? Wii Music was far to simplistic and this, combined with it’s poor song list, guaranteed it a place on our Top 100 Gaming Moments of 2008.

That said, at least we got to see Ravi Drums.
