Parody videos may have jump started Sarcastic Gamer, but it’s the podcasts that are the true backbone of the site. Given the incredible success of the Red Show, it was not long before a new official SG podcast, the Blu Show, aired and took its place as the Playstation focused counterpoint to the Red Show’s “slightly” Xbox 360 oriented viewpoint.

Featuring the phenomenal podcasting talent of Rothbart, Frawlz and yours truly (I am only nominal), the Blu show aimed to give listeners a half hour mega dose of all things Playstation. The first episode debuted March 5th, 2008 and since then I’d like to think we have succeed in bringing our listeners as much Playstation info (good and bad) as we possibly could in a half hour, while maintaining the  strict over-the-top sarcasm SG was named after.

With Rothbart already a tri-console owner from before the Blu Show’s inception, it was up to Frawlz and I to actually acquire a PS3 of our own. Frawlz acquired his relatively quickly and mine came several episodes later, though it took me an infamous amount of time it to get online. After that, every member of the Blu Show owned both a PSP and PS3.

Due to the incredible support of our listeners within the SGC and elsewhere, the Blu Show has now aired 35 episodes (the show’s come a long way since its rough initial episodes) and developed its own “flava.” What would the Blu Show be without my Weeeeee’s? Without Frawlz leading us into the “It’s not a Roomah!” portion of the show? Without Rothbart’s love of facts and figures? Without “dick moves” and “that’s what she said jokes?” We’d be flava-less, that’s what.

The Blu Show exists solely to serve the fans (and not just Playstation gamers), who inspire us each and every week with their emails, comments, Itunes reviews and more. Rothbart, Frawlz and I look forward to recording the show each week as much as our fans look forward to listening to it.

That is why the debut of the Blu Show, giving Playstation a voice on Sarcastic Gamer, comes in at number 15 in Sarcastic Gamers Top 100 Moments of 2008!
