LBP wasn’t the most anticipated title on the PS3 in 2008, at least not for me. I was looking forward to MGS4. Many, many others couldn’t wait to play with their sac boy or girl. Then a few days before it was supposed to be unleashed on the world, the millions of copies that had already reached the stores were recalled and the game was delayed for about 2 weeks.
Check out the fiasco, after the jump.
You see, there was one song in the game that contained lyrics that were taken from the Qur’an, the Muslim Holy Book.
I am not going to make fun of that.
I am going to make fun of the millions of BluRay discs that Sony had to burn to keep the song from seeing the light of day. I bet you could see that bonfire from space. Oh and there was a patch for the few reported copies that got out before the recall. I wonder if there is any religious writing about BURNING things that contain verses from the Qu’ran… I don’t want to get anyone started on that… I’ll stop there.
Sony’s massive recall of a highly anticipated game a few days before launch comes in at number 13 on our top gaming moments of 2008.
