Wall runs, climbs and turns

Wall running is one of the best techniques to use if you need to save some time.  All you have to do is angle toward a wall and push LB to run. A wall climb, though somewhat similar, requires the player to run directly into the vertical surface. This will cause Faith to run up the wall, instead of across it. Faith can also push off vertical surfaces to clear an alley or climb a building with greater momentum. Another aspect of wall running is the 180 degree turn (RB-360 R1-PS3). This technique can be used in a variety of ways. If you are wall running, the 180 turn will make you look toward the opposite wall. If you are wall climbing, Faith will look over her shoulder. Linking wall maneuvers, 180 turns and jumps will help Faith clear gaps and scale structures faster.

General tips

1. Jumping is faster than sliding. If given the option, such as at a cross beam, always jump.

2. Coil jumping is always better then vaulting.

3. Learn the level. Don’t worry about botching your first speed run for exploration. Try to find the most efficient (read: quickest) way to execute jumps and pass obstacles.

4. Almost every level will have one or two jumps that will give you trouble. Perfect those first.

5. You are not going to get 3 stars on your first run. Be patient and practice.

6. Listen to some music to calm your nerves.

7. Learn to deal with frustration. If you get too worked up, turn off the game and have some tea.
