The Server for LittleBigPlanet crashed late last night and according to SCEE “may never be the same again!” Members of the Sarcastic Gamer crew where online at the time of the event, that bought the whole Playstation Network to the brink of the worst online catastrophe it has ever faced.

See a detailed account of events, as well as Sarcastic Gamer’s exclusive comments from SCEE after the jump…Sad, sad news for all you fellow LittleBigPlanet fans! As Sarcastic Gamer Exclusive Report from Last Night revealed there were massive problems of worldwide proportions for the LittleBigPlanet online servers.

Having come through problems concerning the delay of the game, after the recall due to possible offensive music and after some initial, understandable teething problems with the servers, it was hoped that people were now free to get on with playing online together and sharing levels.

However, after last nights events, SCEE say that the server was “damaged beyond repair” and “may never be the same again” A Sony Executive, who wished to remain nameless due to his inability to not say something stupid, went on to say;

“We backed this game all the way. Through the problems with the recall and the early server issues, but these latest events are out of our hands – it’s beyond anything we accounted for. I mean, we are all set up to deal with the usual problems of online security, providing a stable server, dealing with the damaged caused by dolphins nibbling on the under water wires and all the problems with copyright infringement. But when people are using are game to create and hide Weapons of Mass Destruction, then obviously we are in way over are heads.”  Anon, SCEE

Doc, Dave and Rothbart were online and busy creating a level when all the events unfolded. Doc had this to say:

“It was horrible! At first we were having fun building a level with Rothbart, well, before he started slapping us about. Then Lono and him had their LittleBigFallout. Lono stormed of and was clearly upset but we didn’t think he take it to those lengths. You don’t see that one coming, you don’t see that your best friend would just sneak up and launch a small tactical nuclear weapon right at you and your friends. It always the quiet ones”  Doc, SarcasticGamer.com
