Consider this your Xbox 360 public service announcement of the day… if you preorder up Gears 2 at Circuit City (preorder here), you get a free 1600 Microsoft Points card along with it. Apparently, Circuit City seems to think they need to lure folks back to their stores to buy Gears 2. It’s as if they’re suffering from bad press or something, I can’t figure out what it is… Anyway, I’m not sure if this is a pre-order only deal or if it’ll apply once the games hit the store shelves (if they hit the store shelves that is, apparently some things haven’t made it) so if you’re getting Gears 2 anyway, why not get 1600 space bucks thrown in as well? It’s like getting two free copies of Undertow without the annoying network outages.

I took advantage of this deal and pre-ordered. Two things I learned from the person I talked to over the phone (yes, the website tells you to call into their phone order system)
1) It *is* good in-store for non preorders, but only through Saturday
2) If you preorder on the website (over the phone), you can only have them ship it. No in store pickup.
Yeah they’re closing like 155 stores and one of them is in my town and everything is going to be 30%-50% off on Sunday, Gearz 2 here i come!
