I was tempted to put the Finnish flag in this banner, but I doubt whether anyone would have got it.
“I won’t let your readers read into the comment too much but we are showing the final battles of the Pacific and the European Theatre and that lets us put a close to the war,” said Call of Duty: World at War senior producer Noah Heller during an interview with OXM.
Well, readers shouldn’t read into it too much, but writers can. So, I now issue you with this plea: don’t hit the jump. While I can read into this statement as much as I want, you, petty filthy readers, can’t. In fact, I forbid you! While, I can’t actually stop you from clicking the oh-so-tempting, seductive, glorious sun-orange, ‘continue reading’ button, I can try. DO NOT CLICK IT!
See? So disobedient. You should be ashamed of yourself. Do you have no respect? Well, as you’re here, I suppose you might as well stay
In the very same interview as the previous quote, Noah also said:
“I’m sure game companies will be making World War II games for years to come and World War II is a very classic war. But we’re happy that we put the war to bed.”
I’m not sure whether ‘classic’ is quite how I’d describe World War 2 (‘horrific’ might be more fitting), but at least we can all rejoice in one thing: no more World War 2 games in the Call of Duty series*.
Is it long before other series drop the World War 2 thing? I’ll forgive some titles such as Hour of Victory, because occasionally quality takes precedence over setting, but all in all I’m sick of World War 2 games.
*probably.

i didnt click the orange continue reading button. i clicked the article title
I think it was last week but I remember reading the same quote and then another paragraph along side with that from Mr. Heller, where he says they realize their are many untold battles of WW2 so they would definetly explore them at a later time.
Either way, has the ESRB rating system is pushed to its limits in terms of what can be shown war games will be leading the charge, I’m sure a “sudden revival” will occur in the future.
