Hello!
Before we get to the meat of this post, I think it’s important that first I clarify what hasn’t happened, rather than what has.
Mr D. Tails can be found after the jump.
Ok, let’s not get confused here: Nintendo have not unveiled a Wii Speak Channel for the already announced Wii Speak microphone. Four people cannot chat simultaneously using the Wii Speak, and, when it releases, it won’t come with a code to download the aforementioned non-announced Wii Speak channel, and nor does it connect via USB.
So, really there’s not a lot to note here-
“Yes, yes. Ok. Uh-huh. Mmmm. I see. Yes. Ok.”
Well it turns out that while I’ve been writing this article, Nintendo have actually confirmed everything above, so there will be a Wii Speak Channel, the Wii Speak will allow 4 people to talk at once, it will connect via USB and it will come with a coupon to download the Wii Speak Channel for free.
What a coincidence. It’s almost as if I did this for comedic effect, but we all know that’s just not true.
“Wait, more info?!?!”
Well, it turns out there’s even more info available for your viewing delight!
The Wii Speak Channel will launch on November 16, with the microphone costing $29.99.
In the channel, you will be represented by your adorable Miis, who will mimic your movements and dance about being useless.
But let’s say, hypothetically, that the friends you wanted to call was, dare I say it, out of the house. How could you leave him/her a message? Send him/her a letter by carrier pigeon? Semaphore? How about leaving a voice message for him/her using Wii Speak? That last one certainly sounds the best, so it’s lucky that the Wii Speak Channel will allow you to do just that and it can also be used for narrating photo captions.
Photo captions!
!!!
Yet with this confirmation also arrives a flood of questions, such as what the channel will do other than let you speak to fellow companions and leave them messages - will we be able to share photos or play simple games? How much is the channel if you don’t buy the microphone? Will other USB mics be compatible?
Arghhh! So many questions!

I agree with PyroTails, those games need online chat. It would make for much more replayability.

Heh, Wii Came…
Anyway, I gotta agree with Pyro. I’m not to sure how they would allow WiiSpeak to work with past games though…

When Nintendo made MK: Wii, they should have released it along with WiiSpeak instead of releasing the mic with Animal Crossing. That would have made MK: Wii’s already impressive online even better.
