When most gamers think of single-player action RPGs, there is a very short list that comes to mind. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is easily at the top of the list, followed by games like Mass Effect and Kingdom Hearts. Well, there may be a new game to put towards the top of that list, The Witcher from CD Projeckt Red. If you have a decent PC, the new and improved Witcher could be more than enough to hold you over until games like Fallout 3 hit later this month.
I managed to snag a copy of the Enhanced Edition that was released mid-September for a Sarcastic Gamer ItsNotAReview. All of the enhanced goodness, with whores, after the jump!
The Witcher is one of those PC-only RPGs with nothing really ’PC’ about it. What I consider ‘PC’ is extensive amounts of hotkeys, intricate controls, and a huge reliability on the mouse. There’s also the customization aspect, but the Enhanced Edition has you covered for that with the Djinni Adventure Creator. This is a game that would have done quite well on the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, and even with very simple ported controls, it would have been a hundred times better than Two Worlds.
But that’s not saying much.
So let’s hop right into it, shall we?

We’ll touch on the story on Page 2.

This game makes me proud of being polish- the way the story unfolds, number of quests and just the FEEL of this world makes The Witcher a perfect “old school” RPG. Give it a try, don’t forget Poland!
I tried it at my friend’s house, and I loved the stances of the combat. Very satisfying. But this was the original Witcher I was playing, and there some cheesy and bad writing to be had
Too bad I don’t have a good PC, or I would totally get this.
