PSP Plus DualShock 3 = Happy Sony Family!

Ahh, after a hard day’s work, I’m just gonna kick back with a glass of cool milk, some soothing music and a PSP. Sweet relaxation…

Since I’m feeling a bit rebellious, I think I’ll just navigate the menus using the right analog stick today-

What!?!?!?!?! There isn’t one?!?!?!?!!? I hate this [this word has been removed due to expletives, have a nice day] thing, what [this word has been removed due to expletives, have a nice day] would make a handheld, without a second [this word has been removed due to expletives, have a nice day] analog stick?!

Find out why disgruntled PSP owners who want a second analog stick, may just be in luck, after le saut.

The Tokyo Game Show is currently in full swing, and with it comes the announcement of PSP Plus – a feature which allows you to play certain PSP games with the DualShock 3 controller. All you have to do is plug your PSP-2000 or PSP-3000 into the PS3 via USB, and then connect a PSP AV Output cable to your TV and wada-bing, wada-boom you’re playing PSP on a PS3…sort of.

But why is this advantageous? Well, for starters you get use of two analog sticks, something which tends to be quite useful in video games, as well as rocky rumble. Aiming in shooters has always been a problem with the PSP, thanks in part to its lack of a second analog stick and the complete uselessness of the ultra-painful analog nub, but is this really a reasonable solution to the problem?

Surely playing PSP games at home on your PS3 completely goes against the ‘portable’ aspect of the Playstation Portable. Sony should don their thinking caps and come up with a more practical solution to the problem such as, er…I dunno including a second analog stick on the PSP-3000? Since a microphone and a better screen hardly warrant an entire new model, this would be the turning factor that would lead me, and countless others, to buy a new machine. I mean really, who’s going to sit at home playing PSP games on a big screen that look terrible due to the increased resolution? Other than me that is (I tend to not leave the house).

Currently only Resistance: Retribution has been confirmed to work with the feature, but I’d bet my bottom dollar that other games are on the way such as Two Analog Stick Puzzle Game 2: The Sequel: Returns: Revenege and Vengance: Hyper Fight Battle Remix GX+.

Look for more on Resistance: Retribution’s extra PS3 connectivity features later on today.

      I think Sony is wasting time..and now that I think about it u have to have an HDTV to play psp games on ur tv using the component AV cables and not alot of people have HDTVs..why don’t they just add a second analog and like a micro version of the dualshock and put it in the PSP Plus

      @J-OSH
      Just so you know, Sony does make composite AV cables for the PSP for SDTV’s.

      I think that Sony should not put a second analog stick on the PSP; if they did, people would hate them so much because their PSP doesn’t have a second stick. The new screen and mic does warrant a new model, the mic encourages people to use skype since they don’t have to buy something extra. And the screen, I hate playing my PSP-1001 in the car because when the sun is shining anywhere near it, it is IMPOSSIBLE to see whats happening.
