Rumors of downloadable Disney characters? “Shadow of the Colossus”-themed levels? Will the LittleBigMadness ever end? With new beta footage constantly uploaded onto the Internet, the anticipation for the user-driven title is reaching absolutely ridiculous levels. Seriously, I bet more than a few gamers would trade their immortal souls for a chance to test drive Media Molecule’s baby before its Oct. 21 release.
While the game looks to promote originality and creativity, many gamers eagerly await the release of content based on their favorite franchises. In early August, PlayStation.Blog revealed that certain retailers would be offering Nariko and Kratos costumes to those who reserved a copy of “LittleBigPlanet.” Kotaku later reported, based on information from the “LittleBigPlanet” News Site, that the Kratos outfit was exclusive to GameStop. However, a new advertisement from the game retailer has revealed that the company will be dishing out not one, but three “God of War”-themed “LittleBigPlanet” skins.
Alright, so you might have noticed the embedded video below. It contains all of the pertinent information you desire, thus making this paragraph completely obsolete. However, as a responsible journalist, I feel the need to put the footage into proper context. Essentially, it is a GameStop commercial that flaunts a “unique level pack” for the adorable platformer and three “God of War”-themed costumes for Sony’s lovable SackBoy. In addition to SackKratos, the ad showcases a Medusa outfit and a minotaur skin . Or, if you only understand LittleBigSpeak, a Sackdusa and a Sacktaur. There, journalistic duty accomplished. Feel free to enjoy the video.
The following picture comes directly from GameStop’s official site.
Though I detest GameStop, I must say that the retail chain is offering a pretty sweet package for Greek mythology enthusiasts. If I were going to reserve a copy of the game, I would probably give my $5 to R. Richard Fontaine’s evil empire. However, “LittleBigPlanet” is not one of my top priorities during the month of October. I am not saying that I am not interested in the game, but I will have to finish “Dead Space,” “Wario Land: Shake It” and “BioShock” before I start playing with my SackBoy.

F u GAME STOP yea pretty much all i had to say
There are a lot of unique skins for various pre-orders. Will they be made available through other means in the future? Like DLC or something.
@ Havoc
Did Rothbart make you post this?
You will be playing with your sackboy the entire time you are playing Wario…
@ caffeindisaster
Nope
@ Havok
Kewl. More than 1 of you liking it intrigues me.
Now if only Microsoft could steal this one too…………..
@ caffeinedisaster
It wouldn’t surprise me if Microsoft tried to make something similar. In fact, if LBP turns out to be as big as I think it will be, then I fully expect the company to make a game that is essentially a carbon copy.
awesome another LBP post, how original
So I had already pre-ordered LBP before this announcement. I got a promo-code that says I get a Kratos Costume. Does this mean my code will now give me the other two costumes and bonus level also? or am I stuck with only the Kratos costume…?
@keybearer
Unfortunately, I can’t answer that question for you. My best guess is to call your local GameStop and ask them.
