Introducing SG Grey: The Euro Show!

October 24th, 2008 at 10:00 am · 13 Comments

We at Sarcastic Gamer are an equal opportunities employer. Did you know we’re also an equal opportunity podcaster? That’s why, from the middle of next month (in 2009) we’ll be launching Sarcastic Gamer Grey, aka the Euro Show. Both Eoco and I will be bringing you a European perspective on gaming in the way that only Sarcastic Gamer can, except with accents!

For your weekly schedule of SG Grey, hit the jump.

SG Grey will last the usual 30 minutes as Eoco and I take you across Europe on a magical mystery tour of European gaming news and views. Each week we’ll have our work all sorted for us as we’ll just take what’s been talked about on the Red Show and then de-Americanize the spellings and change the accents. Job done.

Or it would be, if there weren’t some super special Euro-centric features lined up for all you European Sarcastic Gamers too! They’ll include (but wont be limited to):

  • In our first section, titled “Nothing”:
    • What’s out in Europe today that America hasn’t had for weeks?
  • In our second section, titled “Everything”:
    • What’s the American PS Store got this week that Europe doesn’t?
    • What’s the American XBL Marketplace got this week that Europe doesn’t?
  • What looks like it’ll never come to Europe?
    • Week One Edition: PlayStation Store video downloads
    • Week Two Edition: Rock Band 2 on PlayStation 3
    • Week Three Edition: Who are we kidding, the answer is “everything”
  • Eoco’s gameplay experiences, with two regular weekly features:

    • Served in MotorStorm again
    • He still can’t build levels in LittleBigPlanet

As you can see, we’ve got some huge plans for SG Grey. It plans to be your typical, oh-so-European, optimistic look at release schedules, all presented with a gloriously colourful name and logo.

SG Grey: Be greytful at least something’s coming to Europe. Ohohoho.

    • TheDutch Don says:

The more SG, the better! Good luck fellas!

    • Blackswordsman says:

If there was a Euro podcast, that is how I imagine it would be. Us moaning about things that America and Japan get months (weeks now) before.

      SO i guess Sarcasm=Truth huh.

      You should really do it!

    • I’d totally subscribe to this podcast and then not listen to it because, you know, I don’t have enough time for the American podcasts I subscribe to.

    • Granite says:

Don’t forget the special PC games section: Games that are available in Europe, but not on Steam for no understandable reason. :)

    • NoneOfYourBusiness says:

You europeans brought it on yourself with are your fancy unique cultures and languages…tear down those borders and make Europe its own country concieved in liberty and pursuit of timely games from EA who still kinda doesnt know where you guys are.

    • Lono says:

This would be awesome, except I don’t speak European… Ah well.

    • Schuey19 says:

      What, no section on tea?
You can’t have a European (aka UK) podcast and not have a section on tea!

Aw man! Did you steal the show notes directly from our show on brutalgamer.com? It’s like you hacked directly into Viatrophie’s mind (dangerous thing to do!) and stole his show plans (like we ever have show plans – LOL) :)

Next thing you’ll be running a gaming blog with witty comments and news stories… DARN IT – fooled again! :)

Hey just a thought thought, if you did a show perhaps instead of finishing the show with “stay frosty!” you could use “keep it crumpet!” ??? No, oh well :)

      Cheers all,

      moose
