Hassle the Hoff with PAIN

The PlayStation.Blog has revealed a very special (sort of) guest star in PSN game PAIN. The (in my opinion, underrated) downloadable game, where you simply fling people into things (explosives, cars, other people, more explosives) has already spawned extra levels in which to cause mayhem, and with next month’s release of the Movie Lot expansion things look to be getting that little bit ‘wackier’, as the kids say.

Info on that guest star (big hint in the title) after the break.

To me, PAIN is a pretty good time-waster. There’s no main objective to fulfill, no overarching storyline to the whole thing; you can just frill your time away flinging people into things and blowing them up, over and over again. With the release of the Amusement Park a couple of months ago you could take the carnage away from the city streets and into a theme park with rides to break (along with the people on them).

The thing is though, the characters don’t really have much… ‘whackability’ to them. Sure, the stereotypes are there (English punk, cheerleader, nurse, teenager dressed as cow) but there’s nothing about them that makes you really, really want to smash them face-first into the nearest oncoming train.

That’s all set to change now, as David Hasselhoff is making a guest appearance in PAIN with the release of the Movie Lot expansion next month, along with a (possibly intentionally) terrible cover of Culture Club’s Do You Really Want To Hurt Me. The answer, I can imagine, is probably ‘yes’.

You can see the trailer, and get some more info on PAIN’s next expansion, over the page.

Am I the only one who thinks kudos to the Hoff for putting his name to this and having a sense of humour about his own reputation/popularity?

Like him, hate him or just not actually care about the guy, surely you can’t deny its pretty cool for him to do this? Can’t see any of the lame ass A listers doing this, can you?
