Update: Important to note that we have no way of confirming the legitimacy of the Twitter account referenced in this piece. While the posts certainly seem quite convincing, several readers have expressed concern over whether the source is to be trusted. While tacking alleged on to all references to the source seems to indicate this in the story below, to avoid any misunderstanding, please read the twitter yourself and draw your own conclusions.
Just a couple weeks from retail release (Nov 7), Gears 2 is apparently a bit more than your 360 can handle at the present time. According to what APPEARS to be Cliffy B’s Twitter, “We’ve found the glitch. Turns out, GoW2 is so f*****g awesome it literally blows up the 360. Working on a day-one ‘less awesome’ patch.”
In earlier Tweets B alludes to the loss of 6 consoles in one day at Epic. That’s one hell of a casualty rate.
Here’s to hoping they don’t have to water Gears of War 2 down too much for our poor wittle consoles to handle the pain. Real problem or marketing tactic? If I were MS I wouldn’t be all that enthused with the latter. You be the judge, since that’s prety much all we do around here is speculate.
Thanks for the tip Dallas!

[UPDATE] Upon further review and confirmation by SixOkay, the community manager of Gears of War 2, we realise that this Twitter is WAY to funny to really be from Cliff Blezedindigsislski. I mean, we all know he certainly can’t draw this good.
I know I’m relieved that my Xbox 360 is safe from the awesomeness of Cliffy B.

That twitter account was confrimed fake by Epic PR when the “bronzed Cliffy” pic was released.
Last thing MS need, they’ve surely had enough of the bad press from the RROD problem.
And if it is that bad for your 360, what about all those who don’t hook their 360 up to the net (I know, but hard as it may be to believe, there are some…)
Great now Sarcastic Gamer is reporting stuff that hasn’t been remotely confirmed to be a credible source and thinks by saying here’s a link to the “alleged” twitter it’ll help. This site just lost my respect and readership.
My god CD, it’s sarcastic gamer, take a joke.
They do it for both 360 and PS3 games and even the Wii… Just lighten up.
HAHA! Working on a day one “less awesome” patch! Brilliant!

SixOkay works at Epic Games. believe he’s doing the community stuff as he’s been twittering the coordinates to find COG tags.
would have written this post off as a Friday post thing but seeing as it’s not friday as well as the update posted to the article, thought i might drop a bit of information
I’ve played through the first couple levels already on my 360 and it hasn’t blown up yet.
The twitter is obviously fake, but totally hilarious…
Come on guys, laugh a little…
Gotta go with Lono on this one… Plus everyone knows that this is something that Cliffy B WOULD say… lol
Nah… he’d find a way to blame it on pirates. Then insist through the entire entry everyone call him Cliff or Clifford or Lord Brifford or whatever the hell he wants now.
As much as I love reading your stuff…
“Important to note that we have no way of confirming the legitimacy of the Twitter account referenced in this piece”
Kinda gave it away that you really bought in to this…
This is almost as bad as me thinking Major Nelson was online with his Xbox.
You should have saved this one for a Friday.
That whole paragraph is done tongue in cheek… How can you take this sentence seriously…?
” While the posts certainly seem quite convincing, several readers have expressed concern over whether the source is to be trusted.”
Have you seen the other twitter entries… They’re hilarious.
I’m guessing the dev kits can take more then the retail console, and they fail to put that into count, but this is a guess, i would suck if everyone who gets the game gets a broken system when they try to play it. That would be 6 to 7 millions consoles that MS would need to fix
Dunno Lono… just didnt’ see a fake news take under it…
Even though its fake, I would have believed him saying that. He also said it was “bat sh!t insane” as well.
It’s not a fake news article…. It’s an article highlighting a hilarious Twitter of a guy pretending to be Cliffy B. Or is it really Cliffy_B?
So you seriously didn’t believe it? Or you didn’t know it was fake? Because no where in your acticle does it say that it is a “funny/hilarious twitter” blog.
Unless you count the update, and I wouldn’t.
I didn’t write the article Frawlz… When I read it, I looked up the twitter page, saw that it was obviously fake and hilarious and then re-read Doc’s article.
Then I posted my comments… I didn’t need to be told that it was a “funny/hilarious” blog, I came to that conclusion all by myself…
Nothing to say; but just enjoy the post.
sounds fun,but a bit vi0lent
Interesting dialogue between the two men.
good to know
a kind of campaign……..
