Remember back at E3 2008 when Harmonix announced that it would be providing 20 free downloadable songs for the “Rock Band” platform following the release of “Rock Band 2″? Well, after months of silence, the company has revealed the release date and full list of tunes.

Personally, I was pretty disappointed that Styx’s “Renegade” and Sponge’s “Plowed” weren’t included. However, since the songs are free, there really isn’t any reason to complain.
Though I have never heard of most of these bands, there is always a chance that all of them could end up on my iPod. After all, the “Guitar Hero” franchise has introduced me to some of my favorite bands and songs. These include Rise Against, “(F)lanningan’s Ball” by the Dropkick Murphys and “Lay Down” by Priestess.

I wonder if the gamefly cases will still have them…
It’s on the back of the manual, so chances are, it’ll have to be a new one.
I am pretty sure each code is unique, so I am guessing it can only be used once.
yeah. If you go to the site, it says that used copies aren’t guaranteed to work seeing as the code might be used. So unless the gamefly people are selling those codes, they should still be good, right?
I registered with the code that came with my instruction booklet, and I didn’t have any problems.
I’ll take any additional songs that they’re willing to give out. It’s just another method of being exposed to more bands I’m not familiar with.
All I can say is no wonder they are free never heard of any of them
but hey atleast its better then a kick in the @ss
The only thing that matters here is that Prequel to the Sequel is here. All other songs are crushed by its might.

@ Pandemonium45: Agreed. Underoath is my favorite band, I’m really excited to see that they’re coming to Rock Band 2.
The only song i like Is the Authority Zero song. the rest is meh while some are god awful imo.
Kutless?! No WAY!!!! I love Kutless, they’re my favorite band. I had a feeling I’d never see them on a rockband game seeing as they’re a Christian band. This is awesome news! The Feeling is a great song too. Thank you rockband2. I can’t wait
