This is our last weekend before Extra Life, the 24-hour gaming marathon set for next Saturday (Oct 18th) to raise money to fight pediatric cancer at one of the world’s premier children’s cancer centers. We’re in the home stretch. It’s going to be close.
With over 1260 gamers signed up to participate we need everyone to GET AGGRESSIVE in meeting our fundraising goals.
So, we brought in the big guns.
Electronic Arts.
EA has issued a challenge for you this weekend.
For every dollar you raise this weekend (between now and Monday morning at 5am), EA will match your donation amount in the form of free games for the kids at Texas Children’s Cancer Center… up to $2000 dollars!
Extra Life is an amazing cause and an opportunity to give back as we head towards the holiday season. We thank you and are honored to be able to participate with you for this event. -Electronic Arts
Please. Tell your sponsors that if they’ve been waiting for the perfect time to give, NOW is that time. Let’s get every single penny of the matching game money that EA is offering!
Think about it. Bring in some money to fight pediatric cancer, and send a free game to a deserving kid at the same time. You can’t beat it!

hmmmm i guess this does make EA less evil
Awesome, props to EA for this.
Guess they don’t hold a grudge for that boycott
***standing ovation***
@Tr0y J, of course they didn’t hold a grudge… everyone went out and freaking bought the gold edition after that….
Wait, it’s Friday, and this doesn’t have the ‘Non-Fiction’ thing in front of it…
Is this true?
Good point Chrono fixed
For the record Extra Life is NOT something we would joke about…. I can see where the confusion might exist though.
Doc
This is amazing. THE EA is contributing.
Wont be participating myself but you’ll be getting my donation.
Very awesome of EA. The fact that they are doing this is just monumental. I can’t imagine the sense of pride you have Doc. For something you started for your friend, to have one of the biggest names in gaming join up must be unbelievable.
Holy crap that’s huge.
EA huge, even.
Fantastic – I was waiting for the right time to donate for mine and my girlfriend’s time, and this definitely looks like it. Just donated.
Big ups to EA for stepping up like this, Extra Life was already groundbreaking, and it looks like its heading toward being extraordinary.
Doc, let’s make this an annual thing. What do you say?
