With E 4 All over, I can honestly say that they did not save the best for last. Compared to E3 and PAX, E 4 All was a big let down. The weekend was not a total loss though. I got my little Hobbit hands on a couple of things that made it all worth it.
Get all of the E for All impressions you can stand, along with tons of pictures, after the jump.
As I arrived early Friday morning, I was eagerly waiting to see what was playable and what wasn’t. Having heard a lot of skepticism about the show, I decided that I was going to give it the benefit of the doubt. As we all waited for them to open the doors, we were welcomed by a group of bagpipers. Not really what I was expecting, but ok. As they opened the doors, I saw, to my dismay, how empty the place was.
As I got through the doors, the first thing I saw was the EA booth. I was excited to see some Dead Space, but as I walked through the different stations they had set up, I realized they were only showing games that had already been released. They were showing Mercs 2, Battlefield: Bad Company, Face Breaker, Kung Fu Panda and one other crappy game. At this point I was like ” Shame on EA,” but my next stop was even worse.
Right behind EA was Microsoft. Microsoft had less stations to play on and, believe it or not, the games were older that at EA’s booth. At this point I became a bit angry.
As I walked around trying to find something interesting, I stumbled upon a booth for Mana Energy Drink. They by far had the funniest booth. They had jerry-rigged a treadmill to a WOW character, and who ever could run the farthest in Azeroth won a bunch of this energy drink. By the way, it tasted like ass. It apparently has the amount of energy of 2 Red Bulls in this tiny little bottle and about 1/12th of the taste. At least I laughed a little watching some sweaty nerds wasting time.

did you go to the meet greet and beat the champs booth? there was a bunch of stuff going on there.
I went too, but I went Sunday. It was the lame and boring. The only AAA games I got to try out was Gears and Farcry.
Where the hell was Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Midnight Club, and MKvsDC??
All the games present are already available for purchase, and Guitar Hero WT was meh….
Booth babes??? I only saw 2 at the Mana Energy Booth, 1 dressed with armor next to a bunny, and three at the WOW booth, thats it.
The only thing I enjoyed out of this half-asses event was taking some pics with the girls and Gears. Sure it was Gears 2, but I wasnt very impressed, sure it was fun, but not COD4 fun.
oh one more thing, this event was aimed more towards the PC gamer audience, which makes it even more lame. There were dozens of PC booths, but only hand full of console booths.
LOL @ “Got my little hobbit hands”.
Nice one, Lono.
Too bad it was so underwhelming. Great job covering what was there, TJ! I’m jealous of that Cog tag you got!
