When Jim Sterling announced his involvement in Extra Life, by way of a $5000 challenge to his Destructoid audience, the response was epic.  Then, just yesterday, Codemasters decided to enter the fray, in an attempt to both support the cause and to promote their latest work, Rise of the Argonauts.

With their $1000 donation they’re getting some love from Sterling, as he will wear a RotA t-shirt (amongst other things we are assured) as he streams himself playing SingStar for a full 24 hours on Saturday, October 18th.

Sterling is not opposed to being a billboard for other products in exchange for raising mad cash for the cause.

 In addition to the debasement I am already suffering by singing for 24 hours, I am now also officially offering my services as a CORPORATE WHORE! If you are a developer or publisher and you want free advertisement, then sponsor me for $1000 and I will wear an item of clothing promoting one of your games. I can swap out shirts on a regular basis, wear hats, jackets, gloves, even underwear if you want.

Poor Jim.  He had no idea what kind of punishment he would be putting himself through in the name of pediatric cancer research.

Please donate to Jim’s page.  Your reward shall be the streamed silvery tones of Jim’s enchanting voice on your computer next Saturday(18th).  And possibly a live on-camera singing fatality.  No matter what happens I believe this will be a first.  He still has a good ways to go to hit his $5000 goal.
