Destructoid’s Jim Sterling is a man on a mission… to sing for the world.

On Saturday, Jim has vowed to play SingStar for the entire 24-hour duration of Extra Life AND STREAM IT ALL LIVE, IF his sponsors helped him raise at least $5000 for the cause.  Thanks to Codemasters, Jim is now a thousand dollars closer to that goal.

In return for adorning himself in Codemasters apparel (Either a Rise of the Argonauts or Damnation t-shirt) Codemasters is kicking in ONE THOUSAND FRICKIN DOLLARS to Extra Life, bringing Jimbolicious to about the half way mark in his SingSterling Challenge.

On behalf of the nearly 1500 gamers who have signed up for the marathon this Saturday, I want to thank Codemasters for supporting a cause that is obviously very important to its customers.

There will be nothing on this planet more hysterically pathetic than watching Jim’s slow 24-hour demise live on a webstream.  I WANT TO SEE THIS.  YOU WILL WANT TO SEE THIS.  But we have GOT to help Jim Reach his goal. He still needs another $2500, and while I know the Destructoid community is doing their best, it appears they are going to need a little help from the SGC to make this happen.
