Activision have officially tipped its hat to America’s military heroes with a fantastic Call of Duty World at War pre-order offer.
Show your military ID or DD-214 at any Gamestop when pre-ordering and get day-one access to an unlockable flamethrower and a set of authentic plastic WaW dog tags.
“We feel that releasing a war-related video game on Veterans Day, November 11th is a huge nod to men and women in uniform,” said a spokesperson for the company. “Much like Memorial Day mattress sales, this bonus flamethrower is our way of saying thank you to the brave men and women who have sacrificed everything to keep our country free.”
Wanda, a mother whose son died in battle says she’s hoping that other game publishers follow suit in the future by releasing relevant video games on dignified holidays.
“I feel better knowing Travis’ memory will live on through this special offer,” said Wanda.
Note: As a veteran, I am disturbed that Activision have attempted to weave a video game into a holiday that is meant to pay respect to our brave heroes. This article is written as satire. It is completely made up to make a point.

They get a real flamethrower for pre-ordering!!! O_O…..
I kid…>_>
Lol. Im surprised that you posted this.
I googled your name and came up with this:

Coast Guard huh? That’s pretty cool.
@Artemas, why so?
Why so Serious?
wait…. am i the only one who didn’t know doc was a veteran?
I didn’t know you were in the army doc!
I can see where your coming from Doc, but if World at War lives up the hype of showing the realism of World War 2 and the brutality of the imperial army I am willing to let it slide. If people who may not know much about war and the people who serve in the military, their is always a chance a form of media will spark their interest to ask Veterans about their experinces. Then again Activsion is one of the many companies who would be profiting off a day created to mark the end off one of the bloodiest wars fought in the 20th century (In Canada atleast).
Hmm….. thats pretty heartfelt satire… like the puppy drop-kicking story… does anyone except me remember that?
Not Army, Coast Guard. My “sacrifices” were a pittance…. nothing…. compared to those who came before and since then.
Sorry. It’s a video game. Probably a great video game. but still a game. It’s not a tribute to heroes. It’s entertainment you pay 60 bucks for.
