Look, a fancy logo!
First there was World of Warcraft, then there was Burning Crusade, and now, to complete the World of Warcraft trifecta, there’s Wrath of the Lich King.

“So what? Meh meh meh mehbeh beh meh” you may rudely bellow as you read this post. Well I’ll tell you what: WOTLK has a release date and a special edition for collectors that like shiny things, both of which are detailed after the jump.

First things first, WOTLK will release on November 13, for the less-than-$47,393 price of $39.99.

Second things second, here’s what comes in the chilly Collector’s Edition:

  • World of Warcraft: The Wrath of the Lich King on DVD-ROM (this surprised me).
  • The Art of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, a 208-page book featuring never-before-seen images from the game (Wow!).
  • An exclusive in-game pet: Frosty, the baby frost wyrm (don’t be confused by his adorable worm-like exterior, he’ll eat your face if he gets near you).
  • A behind-the-scenes DVD containing over an hour of developer interviews, the Wrath of the Lich King intro cinematic with director’s commentary, and more.
  • The official soundtrack CD, containing 21 epic tracks from the game, along with exclusive bonus tracks.
  • A mouse pad featuring a map of the newly opened continent of Northrend (always useful for quick map consultations).
  • Two World of Warcraft Trading Card Game March of the Legion starter decks, along with two exclusive cards available only in the Collector’s Edition.

Make sure you wear gloves to the store when you go to pick this up, it looks mighty cold, and you wouldn’t want it to melt. I think it’s going to have to be stored in a walk-in fridge. Brrrr….

Complete with icicles!

Remember folks, WOTLK ups WoW’s level cap to 80, adds the new Death Knight Hero Class as well as the new ‘inscription’ proffession, opens up the continent of Northrend and adds new dungeons, but is it a buy, buy, buy or a bye, bye, bye?

<Insert PMPB related ‘Stay Frosty!’ joke here>
