PAX has quickly grown into a phenomenon within the gaming community. It has overtaken E3 as the place to be for gamers, while keeping that indie spirit, usually reserved for much smaller shows. It allows gamers to meet other gamers that they have only talked to online. It allows regular gamers to bump elbows with the rest of the gaming community, while also allowing everyone the chance to play the latest and greatest video games coming out this year.
Beyond all that, there are a few simple truths to be taken away from this year’s PAX. Let’s take a look at a few of these, after the jump.
Here’s the top ten things I learned at PAX.
10. Tycho and Gabe aren’t really cartoons. They’re actually super rich nerds, thanks to you.
9. If you don’t want to wait in obnoxiously long lines to play games, head over to the Nintendo booth.
8. Seattle is a great city, especially if you like clouds, North Face gear and beards.
7. Duct Tape is the cosplayer’s costume material of choice. Naturally…
6. PAX attendees are dangerous, just ask Morgan Webb and Adam Sessler’s police escort. (Was that really necessary?)
5. People don’t pack clothing when going to Seattle. They get their wardrobe from the showroom floor.
4. Sleeping in public is OK, as long as you’re on a Sumo Lounge bean bag chair.
3. If you lit a match inside the showroom floor at PAX, the whole place would blow up, from all of the gassy mo-fo’s walking around.
2. People will do anything, I mean anything, for a free t-shirt.
1. Axe body spray did not sponsor PAX, but they should have.
That’s it. Thanks to everybody I met in Seattle. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, that is, until next year!

Er. How are they super rich nerds? Most of the moeny that is made at PAX goes right back into making the next years PAX.
