It’s true. Lono, Dave, Truth and I were asked to leave the Left 4 Dead area at PAX. What was our crime? What could we have done that was so awful as to necessitate our removal from the area? Who’s fault is this?
The juicy details after the jump.
Our PAX 2008 coverage was sponsored by:
Gotcha. Turns out that Valve just wasn’t used to people surviving as long as we did on the newly-debuted Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead. We managed to make it nearly all the way through the level before our bud, Chet, politely informed us that there were lots of people waiting and that we had gone over our time with the game.
Who would have thought we’d be so good at a game that isn’t even out yet? That’s because we’ve managed to play it three different times in three different states. When Lono and Dave got early access to the show floor… They used the entire time playing Left 4 Dead. THEN made another appointment to play it on top of that!
There’s really nothing to worry about now, I mean we’ve played this game so many times on both platforms that I think we can virtually guarantee that Left 4 Dead is going to be a strong buy reccomendation when it FINALLY debuts in mid November.
The only worries we had on the whole thing were lag-related, which have been put to bed by Valve’s revelation that they will be supporting Left 4 Dead with dedicated servers, even on the 360. This isn’t an easy feat as MS makes devs jump through lots of flaming hoops to be able to provide this type of added insurance for online players. Whatever the result, it shows Valves unwavering dedication to me, one of their semi-faithful fans.

Oh, I figured it was because Doc got plastered AGAIN and started kissing Valve employees at the booth.

Well that wouldn’t be so bad cause Katie from Valve is hot . But , Lono and I were like nooooo ! (as they were dragging us away). Chet was saying that nobody had got that far, so he didn’t know we would be playing that long. I felt bad cause we kept having to save Doc , cause he kept dying. The game was so intense that there was one time that we were scrambling to get into the safe room and I turned around and shot the first thing I saw moving cause it was so intense, it was just a bummer it happened to be Lono limping to the safe room . Dave was watching and busted up laughing. That game is amazing . I can wait.
