We were fairly well admonished by Brash as being totally ridiculous a few weeks back when we reported on a juicy piece of information from one of our esteemed sources. Originally, we were told that Brash Entertainment was working on the video game version of Where the Sidewalk Ends, which was immediately denied by a Brash spokesperson. As a matter of fact the reaction was a pretty strong one and we were asked to remove the article immediately. While we didn’t remove it, we did update it with their assertion that this was “so far out of left field” it was ridiculous.
The hell you say.
Last night a different source told us that she/he/it is 100% certain now that we were just a few words off in our first article, and that what Brash is ACTUALLY working on is a video game adaptation of WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE.
Brash has been contacted for comment but at this juncture we’ve heard nothing back from them. We will certainly update this RUMOR with their response the nanosecond it arrives.
I will say that THIS makes a whole lot more sense than a video game based on a collection of poems.
I would like to thank our sources, and award Brash an Oscar for the convincing rebuke we recieved on the last go round. Sure we were wrong…. but not THAT wrong…. right?

I remember his from lyk year 2
I think I know why. I remember watching a youtube video telling all of the ridiculous movies coming out in the next 3 years and this book was going to be one of them! So this must be the movie-licensed game. Great.
I don’t see how this can be turned into a good game. I’ll have to wait and see I guess…
The Story
The book tells the story of Max, who one evening plays around his home, “making mischief” in a wolf costume (chasing the dog with a fork, etc.). As punishment, his mother sends him to bed without supper. In his room, a mysterious, wild forest grows out of his imagination, and Max journeys to the land of the Wild Things. They are fearsome-looking monsters, but Max conquers them with a scary look and he is made the King of all Wild Things. However, he soon finds himself lonely and homesick, and he returns home to his bedroom. He finds his supper waiting for him … “And it was still hot.”
Analysis
Francis Spufford suggests that the book is “one of the very few pictures books to make an entirely deliberate, and beautiful, use of the psychoanalytic story of anger”
I ripped that from the wikipedia.
Interesting none the less.
I think it has potential on the Wii.
No way! I loved that book as a kid!
My sister was so scared of it that it had to be hidden in the basement…
In France, it is called “Max et les Maximonstres” It is simply awesome and I never forgotten it. I wish they really made a game around it (provided they aimed for the old guys having read the book 30 years before)
Everyone has to love it !

What the hell happened ?!!!
I’m sorry for the multiple posts, if you can, suppress the unneaded comments I made.
Again, I’m really sorry…
…Assuming Brash is still around.
Brash is a terrible publisher, and a joke in the development and licensing communities.
They never got that $400M in funding they announced, and are woefully short on cash, often times unable to pay their development milestones. Employees have been leaving en masse, as there is no sign that their troubles will be turning around any time soon.
