Real World Contractor Sued, Is Sony Next?

September 19th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I’ve heard the phrase “Playstation Generation” before, but this is taking it to the extreme. A general contractor in the Los Angeles area is being sued for practices he said he learned on his Playstation 3 from Sony. The basis for the lawsuit is that a general contractor was hired to build a home for a Los Angeles area couple (to protect his identity, we’ll refer to the contractor as TnJ) but has failed to deliver anything at all in over a year. When the plans were drawn up and announced, they seemed to be both vast and impressive. The problem however, is that it’s been over a year since the home was contracted and there’s currently nothing to show for it. When contacted for comment, TnJ reassured us that when the home is finally finished, it will be amazing and unparalleled.

After some investigation on our part, we discovered TnJ isn’t even a licensed contractor, he simply owns a Playstation 3 and is modeling his career after Sony’s “Playstation Home” initiative. In what may be considered a confusion of reality, TnJ seems convinced that Playstation Home is a good model for how real home construction should be implemented. When asked to elaborate on his plans, he explained “What I do is I go out and built a test house and invite people to come see it. Occasionally there are problems with the home I’m working on, like no doors, or doors that lead into a room but won’t let you exit again. Problems like that are fixed in the next test home. I’ve got people lined up to test these homes out. I’m currently hoping to have my first ‘finished’ home done sometime this fall, but I’m still trying out a lot of things. I’ve actually built a small test community to surround home test home, we have a movie theater, bowling alley, even a silly little shopping mall I’ve populated with a couple stores that don’t sell much of anything. I’m sure when I finally get this home done that people are going to line up for MILES to get their own… and I’ll be filthy rich! Oh, don’t quote me on that last part…

For possibly the first time ever, I’m speechless after hearing that first hand report of TnJ’s construction practices.  Rest assured that Sarcastic Gamer is following this story closely and will be sure to update you as more news breaks.
