Not the new Playstation Phone... Or is it?

While I was at the PSP booth, a very nice Sony representative allowed me to try out the PSP 3000. My impressions and the unconfirmed, confirmed, unconfirmed, yet totally confirmed rumor/truth, after the jump.

The PSP-3000 was tethered to a very friendly Sony representative that let me drag her around the Sony booth, playing Wipeout while checking out the new features on the PSP.  I noticed that the new PSP 3000 appeared to be slightly thicker than the PSP 2000, or PSP Slim, featured a much brighter screen along with a microphone and built in Skype.  The buttons felt a bit “clickier” than my slim and felt a bit more solid than the slim i’ve been gaming with for the past few months.

As I was handling it, I wondered aloud, as I am often prone to do, and asked, “So this is what the new Playstation Phone looks like…” the very nice Sony representative was apparently caught off guard with the question and offered a telling “we’re not supposed to talk about that…”

Awesome.

With included Skype and a microphone, you make the call.
