UK-based worldwide magazine publisher Future Publishing, responsible for bringing Qore to America’s PS3 owners, have announced a deal with SCEE’s UK arm to bring the digital magazine to the other side of the Atlantic.
Took you long enough, Sony! Hit the jump for more!
Future, who publish the official PlayStation and Xbox magazines in both the UK and the USA as well as PC mag PC Gamer, announced the plans today on the website of their industry magazine EDGE. As with Qore, the as-yet-unnamed UK edition will feature news, reviews, features and sneak previews of upcoming PS3 and PSP games, all in glossy high-definition.
SCEE and Future also plan to work with “third parties” to produce “exclusive content” for subscribers: whether this is special licensed clothing for Home or something else entirely different I don’t know, but it’ll be some sort of incentive for those who decide to splash out on the digital magazine. The magazine will also be rolled out with localized hosts across Europe later in the year.
I suppose it’s one thing to say “finally” but for a lot of us it’ll be a collective groan of “whatever”. Qore seems to be nothing more than a nice little extra for some of us who decided that paying for video reviews rather than watching them for free on the net was a great idea. Even the incentive of beta invites might not seem that appealing; in Europe, the MotorStorm: Pacific Rift demo was given to a lucky few for nothing while US users had to pay for the privilege.
That could all change though, and us European folks might be made to stump up for the payments too if we fancy the exclusives. I’m not calling it hierarchical but rather a pleasant option, as long as we don’t go down a Bad Company route and find ourselves paying for advantages.
Enough of that argument though. It’s nice to get this sort of service rolled out outside of America..now all we need some movie downloads. Hint, hint.

Why not just pay $20/year for IGN and get HD videos and UNBIASED inside stories across ALL platforms, not just PS3.
I haven’t talked to a single Qore subscriber that actually feels like it’s worth the money.

Which balances out that we pay twice as much for everything else?
