PAX Chronicles: PRE-PAX

September 1st, 2008 at 9:00 am · 5 Comments

Now that I’m back from a fine weekend in Seattle, lets look back on all things PAX. Let’s start from the beginning…

Dave and I flew down early on Thursday. I’ve never been to PAX and got my wires crossed… I thought it

began on Thursday… It did not. In the end we did luck out though because frankly, it was a cheaper flight, and it allowed us to get acclimated to Seattle before the craziness began on Friday. It was also an excuse to attend the Pre-PAX Community Event hosted by The Blue Skittle at the Tap House.

What the hell else happened on Day 1? Read on, after the jump!

First: Meeting Frawlz.

Frawlz is quite a character. Bigger than life, but exactly the guy you hear on the Blue show. He’s unfiltered and unrestrained. The things that came out his mouth over the weekend are unprintable, and for the most part, hilarious. Oh, and he actually brought a friend with him. No, not Latin Legacy, a real live girl. A girlfriend if you will. Who knew?

Onward to the hotel.

Second: Nap.

Took a nap. That’s it. Except that it wasn’t. You’ve got to understand, I’d been up since 5:30 am cst and had been on the go all day long. I was tired. I also needed a second wind. So after lunch, I headed upstairs for a quick nap. Unfortunately, Dave has the loudest ringtone that blast’s Van Halen’s “Panama” whenever someone called him. Apparently, everybody that knew Dave also decided to call him just as I would fall asleep. I would just enter that sweet, sweet dreamscape and suddenly..

PANAMA! PANAMA -a- oh-ah-ah-ah! And I would freak the hell out. All ten times. Dang ringer was loud.

Anyway, after that, we got ready and headed to the Pre-PAX event. It did not disappoint.
