I finally got my game on

I guess I am what you call a casual gamer. Don’t flame me. Not really sure what “flame” means, but that sounds like something you hard core peeps might do to a casual gamer like me.

A few nights ago I decided to create a profile on Xbox. I thought my husband would be proud of me. When he came home from work I showed him my new profile and the 5 achievement points I had earned. Besides laughing at me for using my real name for my Gamer Tag, I think he was a little proud. He spent the next hour walking me through a new game of Grand Theft Auto.

Surprisingly, I liked it! I liked the characters and doing the missions. It was fun, and it didn’t frustrate me as much as some other games have. I tend to get bored when I can’t figure out how to do something in a game. The controls in Halo 3 confused me, and I hated it. Yes, I said I hated Halo.

However, I do like Rock Band. Doc and I spent Saturday night playing Rock Band 2. My attention span is usually short with video games, but we played for hours. I even had my first experience with XBox Live. We played in a band with Lono and his wife. I can play a pretty mean bass guitar on medium.

Maybe my days of being a casual gamer are coming to an end. GTA and Rockband all in the same week? That is pretty hardcore. I am going to go play some solitaire on my phone now.

That is awesome. I think its great that you took it upon yourself to create an account. My girlfriend made a profile on my 360 and tried to play some Halo 3 with me but was also frustrated by the control scheme.

I finally did get her into gaming though when I got her a DS.

but you shouldnt say you only have one 360 because the wifey might say “you can get another Xbox” Then you wouldnt get any far what-so-ever

all i can say is i cant even get my Girlfriend to even look at GTA IV let alone play it!!

Cute! I have the reverse going on in my house. My BF bought me GTA for my birthday and he can’t figure out how to play it. It’s cute when he tries though….lol. You go girl!

My wife doesn’t play games hardly at all but everytime Enter the Sandman comes on RockBand while my kids and I are playing She has to sing the vocals. She then spends the rest of the day singing “sleep with one eye open”. LOL

Aside from that, I don’t know if your casualness is coming to an end. Then again, Green Grass and High Tides could hardly be called casual, and earning achievement points…hell, welcome to the gaming community! We have a maximum amount of personal hygiene per week, though, in case you missed the memo.
