My router is out right now… I’m typing this while using a web connection that is not my own. Whomever owns it will get over it, i’m sure, because they’re probably too busy pumping out their basement… Just like I am.
Yup, that’s right, while Dave rode out the Hurricane while playing Call of Duty 4, and Doc lost his power, Chicago got dumped on with the highest rainfall in, well, forever…
I’m pumping it out now, don’t know the damage yet, but most of my games, controllers, the PS3, stereo equipment, guitar hero controller, heck general basement stuff, is under water. Damn.
Dunno about a Humpday Update this week and I’ll probably be off and on until I get this mess straightened out. So, until then, enjoy the comedic stylings of Eoco and the rest of our merry band.
See ya in a couple of days.

Sorry Dude that’s a bummer. Hope you guys stay safe. Hopefully this weather passes soon. Good Luck.
man that sucks, I believe im in your general area, if you need a hand with some lifting (or whatever) feel free to let me know. (Im in Bensenville)
man that blows. hang in there man. setbacks are temporary, determination is adamant
This my be a little late, but the PS3 awesome power of teh cell doubles as an anti-flood wall…..
Yeah I am surprised Ike managed to get this far inland, it’s been raining way to much the last few days.
Its just things, time and money. Really just stuff that’s irritating and time consuming… Plus no hot water for a while…
Ouch
thank god it was the ps3 and not the xbox. you might have lost a gaming system and not uyst a movie player.
(zing)
Damn Lono. That really sucks.
Losing your games, controllers, and even a PS3? Thats a heck load of money. I’ll be praying for you. I know we got a ton of rain too in the suburbs but our house didn’t get flooded. Our sump pump kept a chuggin
Wow, that sucks. But, like Doc said, at least it’s not the Xbox 360!
But seriously, that stinks.
Damn dude, that sucks. . .
All your games!
Goodluck with getting it all fixed. . .
I have to agree with Doc, I mean, if it was your 360, I doubt the warranty covers hurricane damange. I’m pretty sure it only covers poor R&D, poor manufacturing and archetecture, and common use, but if it actually breaks for a good reason….I dont think it covers it.
Good luck getting the Man Cave back to it’s former glory Lono, GET PUMPING
NO!!!!!!!
NOT THE MAN CAVE!!!!!!
Ouch man, what a bummer. At least you are safe.
wow, good luck getting it back together.
I have an extra copy of Too Human I can send you.
Sure makes that $50/month for homeowner’s insurance seem completely worth it now, doesn’t it?
Good luck on trying to get everything back to normal. Hopefully the insurance companies will be swift and not try to screw you. I just have one question though, why didn’t you move stuff up to the 1st floor when you saw the basement start to flood?
Just don’t plug anything in for a couple of days. It might be ruined if it was plugged in while flooding, but as long as no electrical current goes through it while wet, it should be fine. Just be sure it’s completely dried out
@PMSHarlequin – No you don’t. Game discs cant get water damage. That’s my copy it’s being returned for credit to get Viva Pinata 2.
Good luck with everything though. If there’s anything you just call Dav… just call me.
Wow i’m sorry man. Seriusly
My sympathies
@Yousty: by the time I knew that I had water in my basement, we had about 8 inches of it and I wasn’t about to get electrocuted just to save some “things” in my basement…
Man Lono… I’m sorry. Yeah, I live near Chicago and I thought Ike musta come up here!Close to our house (techinally on our property) is a lake. The water muta risen 3 1/2 feet. Fortunatly, no flooding! We have a walk-out basement, because our house was built on a hill The water was about an inch from getting in. Woot! Xbox saved! So sorry about your house though.
Hey Lono, I really sympathize with you. I live in Galveston on the western end just at the end of the seawall. I have no idea what condition my stuff is in, but it’s just stuff, which renter’s insurance will cover. Hmmm, does this make the 360 and PS3 liquid-cooled now?
That is why I keep my game stuff upstairs instead of in the basement.
Although that didn’t save my PS1 from being spilt on by Dr. Pepper by my younger sibling several years ago.
