Screens, monitors, displays, televisions: they’re all the same thing, bar their obvious differences, but this article is not about those types of screens, but a different type - a screenshot.
In a flurry of literary genius, I was about to make a terrible joke about a ’screenshot’ not being a monitor which has been shot, and was then going to cleverly link shooting, to guns, which would neatly bring me to the Grand Theft Auto series, but that would be appalling so I wont bother.
All the details and screenshots can be found after the jump.
Nintendo Power have recently shown off some of GTA: Chinatown War’s features, as well as revealing the very first screenshots of the game, which is due to hijack and kill store shelves sometime between November 1 and January 31.
The cell-shaded graphics look…erm…like they’re on the DS. ‘Nuff said. Ok, maybe I shouldn’t be too hard on the game, after all it’s not like you actually need to see what you’re doing when you’re playing, oh wait, scratch that, yes you do.
Other features to note are stat tracking via Rockstar’s Social Club site, ‘tasteful’ minigames, a wanted system based on disabling police cars (!!!), and…
SUBTLE AUTOSTEER!
There’s no mention on any Wi-Fi multiplayer features, other than the aforementioned stat tracking, but hopefully something will come to light soon.
All the new screens can be found in our gallery below and be sure to check out all our previous GTA:CTW coverage.

No way, those have got to be fake screenshots. I sure as hell hope so cuz they look freakin’ awful.
Now I wasn’t expecting much from a GTA game on a DS, but I was at least hoping they could make it look as good as Zelda: Phantom Hourglass which I think looks really good cel-shaded.
I guess this just further proves that only cartoony looking games should go on Nintendo systems unless you want them to look like crap.

What’s wrong with cel shaded games Yousty? A lot of great games have been cel-shaded on more than just Nintendo consoles.

Can you really pass judgment on a game that you haven’t seen in motion? DS games have a notorious tendency of looking horrible in screenshots and just fine during actual gameplay. I’m looking forward to it.
