Yesterday the number of people signed up to play in our 24 hour video game marathon to raise money for pediatric cancer research and treatment jumped past 250. Extra Life is shaping up to be a really rewarding experience.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes we’ve been hard at work to find more sponsors and to help with a few technical issues.
To be clear, Extra Life is open to everyone in every country. We have been experiencing some issues in the credit card processing for international gifts, however a solution is in the works. We’ll know more as the day goes on.
It’s not just the number of people that has increased dramatically but also the roster of websites and communities. While we’ve yet to be able to convince any of the “Big Sites” to jump aboard, we have seen a tremendous amount of support from sites on our end of the spectrum, who still remember how to give back. Make it a point today to visit the Extra Life site and click through the various participants and tell them how much you appreciate their help.
Don’t procrastinate. Once you’ve made your fundraising page, get straight to work looking for sponsors. You’ll find a bunch of helpful information on the Extra Life site, including sample letters to send to friends and family, and answers to many frequently asked questions.
We hope you’ll join us for this awesome fundraiser. It’s going to be an experience none of us will quickly forget.
