While I haven’t had a chance to play much of it lately, Call of Duty 4 is still, hands-down, my favorite game to play online. I was greatly excited when the Variety Map Pack hit, but I can see how some people would have been hesitant to shell out $10 for it.
Well, instead of $10, would you pay $8 for these maps? How about $7? You won’t even have to pay that much. This weekend, the Variety Map Pack will be half off. Crazy!
Well that’s not all. Infinity Ward is having their own Combo! According to fourzerotwo’s blog (IAMfourzerotwo), Call of Duty 4 on the Xbox 360 will have a Double XP Weekend on all playlists, and the Variety Map Pack will be 50% off on Xbox Live starting tomorrow, Friday the 12th. Don’t worry, PS3 owners, this event should hit the PSN sometime around the 18th.
Also, you can pick up the Prestige gamerpics this weekend if you missed them during the last Live Fire event, that’s one hell of a deal. Double XP, 50% off the maps, and some free gamerpics. The only thing that would have made this better is the release of some new playlists. But I can wait.
If you’re picking up the maps for the first time this weekend (and why wouldn’t you?) I suggest you hop into the Delorean and head back in time to when the maps were first released to read my impressions on them.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to free up some time this weekend.

I find it funny that everyone was cpmplaining about the 800 points for the H3 map pack, and were all saying that it was going to be less, and they where the same price. Also Halo 3 has a map pack out at a reduced price and FOUR free maps.
