After Ticket To Ride was released on XBLA a few weeks ago many were clamoring for a European version. Luckily the fine folks at Next Level Games were eager to please, with this new version of the game being released earlier this morning.

Ticket to Ride: Slyfield Industrial Estate features the classic TTR gameplay where players try to set up a profitable rail network before their opponent, but that doesn’t matter. What does matter is the most important aspect of this new game: its subtitle. TTR: SIE transports players to the scenic area of Slyfield Industrial Estate, where bountiful supplies of flora and fauna dwell amongst daisy chains, clouds and blue sky.

Due to the small scale of this new area, the developers have taken a number of steps to prevent the game being boring, though my idea of not releasing it in the first place was shot down with nasty glares, much weeping and cries of “Why did we make this game? Why?”. Anyhoo, to reduce the mind numbing boredom that is so commonly, and correctly, associated with TTR, the developers decided that every 40 seconds a foghorn should play, the screen spin round 5 times, and badly photoshopped chickens riding on the back of furry door handles should fly across the screen yelling ‘I’m a Yoshi and I’m wearing green shoes’. Random I know, but it certainly does spice things up.
