I prefer co-op multi-player. Games like Dungeon Siege, Diablo, and the upcoming Too Human are my preferred genre.

I’ve passed many an hour with my buddy from college playing games like Phantasy Star Online or various MMO’s fighting over loot and such. Don’t get me wrong, shooters are fine and dandy and I enjoy a good RTS multi-player game from time to time, but the hack and slash dungeon crawler is going to have to be my favorite.

All time favorite is hard to place, but I’ll go with Dungeon Siege for lack of a better thought at the moment.

I am sorta an in between on a lot of those,

I strive to be able to beat just about anybody I meet on XBL, but I could care less about the leaderboards.

All I have to say is that I play too much multiplayer online or offline.

I prefer multiplayer over LAN, because on XBL you are much more prone to lag wich I have been experiencing a lot of it lately…

I enjoy playing FPS with other people the most, however my all time favorite multiplayer game is rockband.

I don’t care too much about being top of leaderboards, mainly because I know I will never be good enough, so why stress about it?

I don’t play a huge amount online, but to be honest I don’t play a huge amount of 360 anymore, because of study, music etc. But I would say about 5 hours a week online, in a good week. Sometimes I won’t have a spare second for online gaming in a week though.

FPS are normally the best online gaming experiences, possibly because it gives an aspect of gameplay that you don’t get from AI, wheras with racers and sports games, AI and human players play in a similar way.

I personally loved the online medal of honor: Allied Assault for PC, that was fantastic. And counter-strike of course.

i think that they are both incredibly important. the stat tracking in online keeps you playing for a while and online co op is great for you and your friend to play together. also if a game, like resistance 2, has a completely different story than the single player story that is really cool. bet then again the resistance 2 online competitive is crazy also because there are 60 players. it all depends on your mood and what your friends are doing

I like both co-op and competative online Gears was good for both BFBC is great for competitive online. but not too botherd about leaderboards.

I like to play FPS Competitive online because there is no screen cheating and I tend to get bored with co-op and kill my friends.

Games don’t bring a different experience on online play I tend not to play online but multiplayer offline i still will play. eg.WWE, DBZ Burst Limit, Naruto ROAN.

I didnt play online that often until a friend got XBL

For me, theres nothing better than getting a group of 4 people together at your house, launching up Halo 3 and hopping into the team slayer playlist. The atmosphere of your whole team being around you is unmatched. Even when your losing the match, you nudge eachothers thumbsticks whilst you wait to respawn, just fr fun.
Say you just came back from a really close match, you all played really well and your amazed you won. Sure you can shout down your mics at eachother, making sure your victory cries get heard. But what about pushing poeple out the way so you can hold your hands in the air and scream “Go TEAM!”
For co-op play you need to be in the same room, in fact if your playing against a friend you should always play in the same room. Alot of games nowadays advertise how immersive there experience is. Whats more immersive than being next to the guy you just killed?
Just please refrain from teabagging him, thats only funny in the game.

I like competitive shooters. I like to get to the top and GoW is the best. nuff said

• 11 Yamster // Aug 3, 2008 at 7:02 pm

Why not have both? :D
Warhawk and Metal Gear Online, while competitive, encourage co-operation and communication between teammates as you play.

I love co-op games. I’d much rather team up with my friends than shoot them.

GoW co-op was excellent, as was Halo 3, but what I really miss playing co-op on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory(?). It’s a hell of a lot of fun sneaking around those missions with a friend and using sound to lure enemies into traps ( and then having body-stacking competitions - - How many unconscious enemy soldiers can you pile onto that love seat? :D

That is some of the most fun playing co-op that I can remember. Too bad it’s not very backwards compatible, tho.
